It's super-early in the morning and I'm laying here wondering if I ought to nano this month. I know it's a massive commitment, but I think I need something like that to keep me going on a daily basis. I'm pretty much done with my fest things this year - only have one other to do, and that ought not to be a big deal since it's just a little gift exchange in a small comm.

The thing is, though, I don't have a story idea. I'd have to come up with one from scratch scratch.

If you decide to do Nano, my username at their site is 'partylines' if you want to add me as a buddy. :-)

I think I might. I need to come up with a story idea, though. Something different... I'm thinking Historical Romance/Adventure. That way I can come up with a formula-like plot and some archetype characters and let it go.

what if you just write whatever comes for a while, ala Morning Pages, and see what happens? I've never NOT had a story or three show up when I did that consistently.

I am committing to write first thing every morning for at least 20 minutes.

yeah, I started writing this morning, and I'm up to nearly 1000 words... and my hero hasn't even made it home yet (which is where the story really begins)

I don't know. I'm going to keep up with it and see what happens. Since I've cut way back on fests this year, I think I can do this.

I'm nanoing and I didn't have an idea either. Now I have two, and I can't pick (am trying them both out to see how I go).
